Membership

By becoming a dues-paid member of Armenian Church of Nashville, not only will you have the privilege of having a voice and voting at the Parish Assembly, you will become an integral member, partner and an architect in the life and ministry of our church.  Each year the Parish Assembly is typically held in the month of February.  This also entitles you to be eligible to be an officer of the Church.  Remember you can make a difference, and together we can preserve the Armenian faith and identity.

The annual membership fee is $100 for family or $50 for single individuals.    If you were a dues-paid member last year, the deadline for your annual dues is December 31st of this year or  you will not be considered eligible to vote in the upcoming Parish Assembly as stated in the Amended By-Laws Article 6 of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern Diocese):  Every member of the Parish, 18 years of age or over, shall pay to his (or her) Church an annual due, the amount of which shall be paid in full by December 31st of the current year.

This deadline date applies to new and renewable membership, however, a new member must also have registered and paid his/her dues at least six months prior to the Parish Assembly in order to be eligible to vote.  Article 7 of the By-Laws of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern Diocese) states: Members in good standing of a Parish Church, who are 18 years of age or over, may participate in the Assemblies of the same Parish and may vote, provided that at least six months have elapsed since they have registered and paid dues at the time of registration as members of the Parish.  They may be eligible for office one year after becoming members, provided they have attained the age of 21.

Who are members of the church?
Members are those who commit to the annual membership dues of $100 for family ($50 for single individuals). Stewards are members who contribute to the church over and beyond the standard membership dues according to their ability. Membership and stewardship dollars are fully tax deductible.

Why should I become a member?
Because you recognize the significant role the church plays in your life, and you want to support her mission. Stewardship

As a steward, you participate in the implementation of programming and projects which support the church's mission.

Who is a Steward?
A Steward is one who is responsible for the care and well-being of things entrusted to him. In the Christian context, the care and the well-being of one church has been entrusted to us. A Steward of The Armenian Church of Nashville is one who is committed to that responsibility.

Why is there a need for a Stewardship program in our Parish?
We need to establish and maintain a predictable income to meet our annual operating expenses. This program will supplement the annual minimum dues and major fund raising efforts. Stewardship is independent of voting membership. Therefore, Stewardship donations will help support our Church, helping to fund monthly services and activities.

Who can participate in the Stewardship Program?
Participation in the Stewardship Program is open to any individual or family. You can be a Steward without being a voting member, but we encourage you to be a voting member and also participate in the Stewardship Program.

What is our goal for the year?
In order to meet our operating expenses and carry out our ongoing activities, we urge Parish Members, Supporters and friends to be Stewards of the Church. Whether you can give more or less, we are asking you to give to the best of your ability.

Are stewardship dollars tax deductible?
Yes, all donations to the church including stewardship donations are fully tax deductible.

How do I become a steward?
Each single donation of $50 or more counts towards individual/family stewardship total for the year. As you donate more throughout the year, you can advance through the stewardship levels, such as Deacon, Disciple, Apostle, etc..

What are the stewardship levels?
Stewardship levels are computed based on donations you made (single donation of $50 or more) throughout the calendar year, they are $50-$199 (Supporter) - $200-$499 (Follower) - $500-$749 (Deacon) - $750-$1000 (Disciple) - >$1000 (Apostle)
